lynnWith over 23 years of metals industry experience, Hui Lin Lim is the founder and President of HL. Prior to founding HL, Ms. Lim was Inventory and Position Management Specialist in the Metals Group of Cincinnati-based David J. Joseph Company, where she was responsible in the areas of risk management, contract & inventory management, and systems process improvement. Prior to her management role, she served as Logistics Specialist where she successfully reduced the company’s operating and transportation costs.

Prior to joining David J. Joseph Company, Ms. Lim held several trading operations positions at Gerald Metals Inc., in Stamford, Connecticut where she was responsible for all operational facets of the Copper and Precious Metals Groups.

Ms. Lim started her career in the metals industry with AIG Trading Group Inc., based in Greenwich, Connecticut. She was the Derivatives Operations Analyst in the Base Metals Group where she provided operational trading support in OTC metals futures and options.

As an Academic Excellence & Leadership Scholar, Ms. Lim graduated summa cum laude from the University of Bridgeport with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Master of Science in Management Engineering in only four years. She holds performance music degrees in piano and violin from the Trinity College London, England. Due to her desire to come to the United States to pursue her dreams, Ms. Lim had turned down a full scholarship to study in New Zealand, offered by Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Malaysia’s national electricity utility company.

As an avid cyclist, Ms. Lim has participated in various fund-raising events, including the MS150, Pedal The Cause for cancer research, the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Scenic Shore 150 bike rides. She has also raised funds for Cystic Fibrosis (Sparkle For Cincinnati’s Finest) and participated in United Way’s Junior Achievement. As a violinist, she has volunteered and performed with the New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra (New York City), Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Community Orchestra and the Savoyaires’ production of Gilbert & Sullivan (Evanston, IL). She is also passionate about mentoring young violinists to hone in on their skills. Ms. Lim is multilingual in English, Malay, Mandarin and Cantonese.
